This is a completely false dichotomy. There are millions of people that are very well educated chemists, mathematicians, physicists, teachers, biologists, IT workers, computer scientists, historians, etc, who are not millionaires, and who would probably be much better suited to shaping policy than the folks that are completely in the pockets of the same interests that they should be protecting their constituents from being exploited by.

I wish people would stop complaining so much about gas prices. Let's say you get 25mpg on average and drive 15,000 miles a year, if gas goes up a dollar, you're spending a whole $600 extra on gas to fill up your $15,000 car, OH NO! But then people have no problem buying coffee every morning, which even at a conservative estimate of $3 a cup, which would maybe get you just plain coffee, you're spending over $1000/year.You wanna complain about the way oil companies do business, sure whatever, but gas prices aren't that big of a deal, and a lot of other countries are a lot worse off than we are.!
