After reading this yesterday, I did some of the about:config network.http tweaks that seemed to make sense... and slowed the browser down dramatically. Load two things in two tabs and nothing happens. This on a very fast, brand new quad core machine running 64-bit W7.I just put them back and all is well again. YMMV..
Yes, but it should have been out by now, if not a year ago - by the time it actually makes it out, Android 3 will be making waves :p . I'd like to see the iPhone and Android OS's force some competition out of Microsoft; maybe once their mobile marketshare dries up completely, they'll consider revamping WinMo. I happen to love Android, though, so it'll be a tough sell (and I imagine others on iPhones or Android devices feel similarly); I don't really want to go back to "pull out the stylus to text someone" :p!

FireFox - a great introduction to alternative browsers for people who believe IE *is* the Internet. Hopefully it encourages people to try Opera, Safari, Flock and others?

@hardtoconfuse To be fair, the US is one of the world leaders when it comes to issues of free speech. Hitchen's has praised the US for this many times as well. There are still many countries in the EU and other parts of the world where you can still be arrested for saying or publishing something bad about certain races or religions, speaking out against the government, denying the holocaust etc. However when it comes to incarcerating it's own citizens, the US has a disgusting track record, most of it due to the governments illegal drug war and the accompanying network of privatized prison system mobsters and lobbyist.

Rather than trying to express yourself through a superficial way like who could buy the most expensive clothes versus who always wore the same threadbare outfits as was done at my and other public schools, Issue a low-cost uniform so that students can instead express their individuality through character, achievement, or athleticism rather than what their parents can buy them to wear? |
