This is not true. In Iran, the mass majority (i'd say 85+%) of people over the age of 40 are conservative Muslims and welcome a government that is tied in with religion. It is the younger generation that is starting to veer from this line of thought. Much like the US where we have an older generation who still clings to their fairy tales and wants to base our government on their religion, with a younger generation who is more liberal and ready to progress.!
